A Brief Top Level View Of Newcastle Gigs

The town of Newcastle is usually busy with lots of activity. music is not just a favorite pass time here ; the neighbors take their music seriously. There are several local bands jostling for Newcastle gigs held at the many entertainment spots and arenas all over the town. Newcastle also plays host to several state and global artists who are always warranted of a warm reception whenever they come to perform for these mad music devotees. Any local artist or group that shows a glimpse of real talent right away attracts a big interest and following. The fans can be quite demanding so it is the privilege of the performing artist to be certain that the group is happy with their performance.

One of the biggest Newcastle gigs of current times was the concert by Motorhead at the Newcastle Town Hall in November 2005. The band was in good form and started steadily much to the elation of the loving crowd. One of the highlight performances was the tune ‘Killed by Death’ which caught the spectators and drove them into fever as they jumped and sang along to the lyrics. In between their songs, they took breaks to switch their costumes which brightened up their performances and added to the themes of the tracks.

The Roxy Music Newcastle gig held earlier in the year in Jan proved to be a discontent due to very poor sound quality. The band is proficient and the problem was likely not of their making. The organizers were just shoddy and the crowd was kept waiting for long as they fiddled with the sound system. When Roxy Music took to the stage, the crowd showed a large amount of passion, but this was dampened by the distorted sound coming through. In addition, there were numerous security staff who appeared to harass fans. The organizers disappointed the giant crowd that had turned up to cheer an otherwise accomplished band.

The Metro Arena in Newcastle played host to Paul Weller and his entourage in May this year. This came after an identical event slated for December last year was delayed. It’s a windy evening, and the wind energetically blew at the many imitation hair-cuts adorned by Weller fans. Weller took to the stage and gave a diversified mix of new and old songs at a particularly high tempo. The energy shown by the 52 year old performer was marched by the positive crowd. It will go down as one of the most outstanding Newcastle gigs this year.
