A Special And Genuine Performance In The Guts Of Dubrovnik May Appeal To All Those Set To Take A holiday In Croatia In August.

A special and legitimate performance in the heart of Dubrovnik may appeal to all those set to take a holiday in Croatia in August.
On the 28th of the month, the Dubrovnik Chamber Trio will take to the stage in the town and put on a varied and classic show.

The pieces they’re due to perform are based on a British and French baroque theme and will include tunes composed by Beethoven and Mozart, according to the Dubrovnik Holiday maker Board.
A slot at the Domino church in the center of the town, starting at 21:00 local time, has been booked for the trio, where they will be joined by neighbors and visitors who want to hear their sounds.

The Croatian Nationwide Visitor Board has told of the joys of the Kastav Summer of Culture event which is now in progress and features a number of musical performances, including the well-liked Global guitar Festival.

St Tropez is so last season, Ibiza now draws the hordes whilst Marbella has been done incessantly, so stylistas wanting to rub shoulders with celebs as diversified as Beyonce, Oprah and Kevin Spacey are booking their tickets to the walled Croatian capital, Dubrovnik, Byron’s ‘Pearl of the Adriatic,’ with its shining travertine streets and azure waters, for that one-off mix of culture, history, gastronomy and a really colourful party scene.

And no time of the year better demonstrates Dubrovnik’s vibrancy than the annual Le Petit Holiday du Thtre, taking place this year from the 24th of June till the following of July. A theatrical and inventive spectacular, the festival brings this party-loving town to an even higher cultural plane with a selection of innovative plays, musicals and contemporary art displays galore.

But if you can’t quite make it to the festival, start your town tour on foot at the Pile Gate on the medieval, two km long and 25m high wall that encircles the old town. No trip is complete, no vista of the town and Adriatic as breathtaking and all-encompassing as that from the fortress, towers and wall that protect the town, an authorized UNESCO Heritage site.

Culture vultures requiring nourishment leave time for the 14th century Dominican priory with its galvanizing 15th century Gothic cloister. The beautiful baroque, three-nave Dubrovnik Cathedral, the 3rd church to be built atop the present site, contains remnants of the prior 6th century Byzantine basilica and 12-14th Century Romanesque Church of the Presumption ; just don’t miss the rich treasury.

Water babies desiring to discover more about all that occurs under and on the sea should shell out the all inclusive entrance ticket to the Maritime Museum- with its excellent collection of seafaring charts, ship models, documents and replicas- and twenty-seven tank sea water aquarium that contain a multitude of indigenous rainbow colored fish and sea creatures from stingrays to sea horses.

All this exploring works up an appetite and there isn’t any better place to indulge your gastronomic desires than the fine dining Porat that serves up some of the best local cuisine ; the sea bass is worth the trek alone.

It’s no wonder George Bernard Shaw announced that “those who seek paradise on earth should seek it in Dubrovnik.”

While you’re there…
discover a gem
A popular yet very unlikely to find alfresco bar hidden within the rocky walls of Dubrovnik from which divers regularly jump directly into the azure ocean below. The first, unmarked entrance to Buze bar is accessible from the ground through a doorway marked “8-20″ opposite the terrace of the Ekvinocijo cafe on Ilije Sarake ; a second Buze Bar now draws revellers too.

Hit the beach
Whether you are after a spot of swimming, sunbathing or water sporting, relax at the Lapad Cape Beach, the biggest public beach in the town, renowned for rocky, pebble-strewn coasts and azure waters. Its walking trails that wind along the sea are ideal for leisurely strolls while admiring the lovely scenery.

Seek some thrills
The distinctive Franco Tudjman Suspension Bridge, found in the Gruz suburb, it offers those who valiantly climb up it sweeping perspectives of the harbor and the town centre. But adrenalin addicts head there with another purpose ; to bungee jump…
