Fifth disease In Adults

Fifths disease in adults??

wandering if any adults out there have ever had fifths disease? my nephew has fifth’s disease now. i have been doing alot of research, and i know he is not contagious since the parvovirus has turned into the rash, and i know they say 50% of adults have either had it, or if they catch it as adults, the symptoms will not be as bad as in children. i know it’s supposed to be a mild disease, but my nephew has a pretty bad case of it, the rash covers most of his stomach, upper legs, and arms, and face, which gets worse in the sun. im wandering if i catch it, will my symptoms be as bad as his? wouldnt wanna have to worry about a rash in the middle of the summer when im in the sun alot. thanks!!!

Erythema infectiosum, acute infection with parvovirus B19, causes mild constitutional symptoms and a blotchy or maculopapular rash beginning on the cheeks and spreading primarily to exposed extremities. Diagnosis is clinical, and treatment is generally not needed.
Please see the web pages for more details on Erythema Infectiosum (Fifth disease).
