Scientists based in the USA have shown that green teas, like Tava Tea have a component that will cut the levels of a protein that is linked to the development of this disease.

In the stringent study, men who had prostate cancer that hadn’t spread drank either six doses of Green tea or water a day for three to six weeks and then had a radical prostatectomy.
The researchers then checked the tissue that had been removed for levels of a compound called Epigallocatechin-3-gallate.
Epigallocatechin-3-gallate was only discovered in the tissue taken from the tea drinkers. Further tests also indicated the tea drinkers had reduced levels of proteins linked to the onset of prostate cancer.
It has been discovered that the compound has an antioxidant effect, cutting out cell damaging free radicals.
