Spotting Signs Of liver disease

Sometimes, function of this important organ may even be compromised before any liver trouble symptoms are obvious. In many cases, liver function tests will reveal symptoms of liver trouble before outward signs make their presence known. This is another reason you should have an annual physical that includes liver blood tests.

The goal of this article is to list the most common symptoms of liver trouble so you can recognize them as soon as they begin to appear.

The most obvious of the many liver trouble symptoms is pain in the liver area, which includes the upper abdomen on the right side.

* A persistent cough that doesn’t seem to be connected to a respiratory infection.

* Unexplained, unusual and chronic fatigue and low energy.

* A feeling of nauseousness, along with fever and occasional vomiting.

* Frequent headaches.

* You’ll notice that you have irregular bowel movements, experiencing diarrhea and constipation more often.

* A reduced appetite and unexpected weight loss are common symptoms of liver trouble.

* Muscular pain and joint pain.

* Pain in the throat and a runny nose.

Heightened sensitivity to certain odors and bright lights are among the other common signs of liver trouble.

Liver trouble symptoms that appear when liver damage has reached a later stage might include darker-than-usual urine and lighter than usual stools..

People with liver trouble sometimes suffer hemochromatosis, which is a disorder that causes extra iron to accumulate in the liver. Hemochromatotis symptoms are

* increased blood sugar levels,

* an unusual feeling of tiredness and reduced energy,

* impotence in men, lower sex drive in women,

* women may also experience reduced menstruation,

* signs of trouble in liver function test results,

* thyroid problems, most often hypothyroidism (commonly known as low thyroid or underactive thyroid),

* abdominal discomfort,

* arthritis pain, especially in the hands and fingers.

Liver trouble symptoms should be taken seriously. People usually don’t think about liver health as often as they think about their heart or lungs. But your liver plays a huge role in your overall well-being. When liver trouble occurs due to damage, disease or disorder, it can have profound impact on your everyday life by disrupting your metabolism in a big way.

Be sure to visit your doctor if you begin to have pain in the liver area of experience any other the other liver trouble symptoms mentioned above. As with most other diseases and disorders, treatment for liver trouble is more likely to be effective if the problem is discovered early.
